We believe that incarceration cannot overcome addiction.
Morgan County Residential Recovery Court (MCRRC) provides a therapeutic community approach to addiction recovery. Created as an alternative to incarceration, it instead allows participants to invest themselves fully into overcoming their addiction.
MCRRC’s program was founded by Judge Seth Norman (Ret.), a criminal court judge with over 21 years of experience in the criminal justice system. Judge Norman values rehabilitation and has been instrumental in helping improve the way the criminal justice system responds to addiction.
Our unique program and allows participants to work on overcoming their addictive behavior patterns. Graduates return to their referring courts for continued programming, with the goal of leading productive lives after treatment.
Classes on addiction and behavior are taught by certified, experienced counselors and attended by all residents.
Residents share common, open-air walkway space between residence halls, work shops, dining areas, meeting and educational spaces, and multi-purpose buildings.
Residents participate in small group addiction recovery therapy.
The mission of MCRRC is to assist the State of Tennessee and recovery court programs in addressing the substance abuse problem by providing a quality intensive residential treatment program that will promote positive change in criminal and addictive behaviors for the purpose of reintegrating adult felony offenders into society and reducing recidivism.
Established as a part of the Governor’s Public Safety Plan, Morgan County Residential Recovery Court (MCRRC) is a collaboration between the Department of Mental Health & Substance Abuse Services & Correction.
